▍Four ways to prevent drowning 

In the summer months more and more people cool off by playing in water, but that also makes it important to avoid placing oneself in dangerous or even life-threatening situations.

In the event you find yourself in danger of drowning, take one of the following life-saving measures: 

1.Attract attention:Wave your hands in the air, splash the water and shout for help, so you attract the attention of others.

2.Use a floatation device:Grab anything that floats in the immediate vicinity or take off an item of clothing, throw it forwards from behind your head, allow the clothing to fill up with air and use that as a floatation device

3.Adopt the jellyfish float position:Take a deep breath and place your face in a downwards position in the water, naturally extend your arms and legs downwards and relax your body.

4.Lay on your back:Relax your whole body, take a deep breath and slowly lean backwards. When breathing take short quick breaths in and out.
