▍Improper use of eye ointment can harm your eyes 

Should eye ointment should be applied to the eyelid or eyeball?

The following is a guide to the application of eye ointment:

Apply the ointment to a sterilized cotton swab before application

When using 2 to 3 different medications, wait 5–10 minutes between each one to avoid the moderator effect

Eye ointment should be applied to the lower eyelid, avoiding contact with the eyeball

If any ointment is left one month after the seal is broken it should be discarded immediately

Store the ointment in a cool place below 25°C

Eye ointment is a personal medication and should not be shared with others, to prevent cross-infection.
