▍Did you know that Taiwan is a signatory to an international treaty on banning racial discrimination?

The  “International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination” (ICERD) proposed by the United Nations advocates for people to have the same basic rights irrespective of

race, skin color or nationality, while working to proactively eliminate racial discrimination and unequal treatment.

The Republic of China (Taiwan) became a signatory to ICERD before withdrawing from the United Nations, so it was officially approved, came into force and has legal authority in Taiwan.

If you encounter discrimination or inappropriate treatment file a complaint through the National Immigration Agency’s “Discrimination Complaint Hotline for People Living in Taiwan.” If you require interpretation services call the 1955 Hotline.
