▍Eliminate job placement fees - Case guidance
“The Ministry of Labor (MOL) has launched an investigation into Indonesian workers being charged job placement fees in Taiwan and called for evidence to be provided.”
Recently, Indonesian workers have responded collectively to being charged NT$50,000-NT$80,000 in job placement fees per individual by labor brokerages in the name of continued employment. After this situation was revealed, brokerages rushed to return related fees
Be aware : The government attaches great importance to this collective response and will investigate whether there are additional cases or similar fee charging situations. It will also seek to determine whether related labor brokerages are engaged in systemic illegal behavior as part of a follow-up investigation
MOL calls on foreign workers and the public : Anyone who encounters a similar situation is encouraged to proactively provide payment transfer records, chat histories, images of receipts, or other supporting material. Every piece of evidence helps to clarify whether improper fee-charging has occurred
