▍When using fireworks, be aware of time restrictions to avoid being fined

Across Taiwan, firecrackers and fireworks are used to celebrate festivals. However, safety, noise and related regulations must also be observed:

In general, fireworks can only be used at designated times : Most counties and cities prohibit the use of fireworks from evening until the next morning. During festivals, restrictions may be relaxed, but there are still time-specific regulations

Violations may result in a fine : Using fireworks in violation of regulations can result in fines under local ordinances. If public safety is endangered other laws may also apply

The sale and storage of fireworks are regulated : Selling firecrackers and fireworks must be undertaken in accordance with fire and public safety requirements. Storing excessive amounts can result in a heavy fine

Always remember

Before using fireworks, check with neighbors, your employer, or the fire department. Regulations may vary by county and city, so doing so helps to avoid violating the law, ensures safety and demonstrates respect for the local community
