▍When sending mooncakes from your hometown, be aware meat products cannot be brought into Taiwan
During the Mid-Autumn Festival, when returning to Taiwan or receiving gifts from your hometown, pay close attention to whether any foodstuffs contain meat. Common prohibited items include:
•Mooncakes with a meat filling
•Pork ham
•Meat products such as jerky and meat floss
•Baked goods with pork filling
To prevent the spread of animal infectious diseases such as African swine fever, it is illegal to bring in or send pork and related products from affected areas to Taiwan
•When returning to Taiwan from overseas, do not bring meat products into the country
•Ask family members and friends living overseas not to send food containing meat to Taiwan
•Before purchasing food products from overseas online, check whether they contain meat and related import regulations
Anyone who brings in or sends pork products from affected areas to Taiwan, in contravention of existing regulations, is subject to a maximum fine of NT$1 million
